Our India box reviews

Textile Folds

The box made dinner time a really happy place , the props were so good
I got an indian box (I am indian) my son is 6, and loved the map and asked about what the relevance was of each item. We loved the music whilst learning our facts and he is learning about diwali at school so he was so interested in learning more with me. These boxes are great and I had a special bond with him over this time.

What discussions can the boxes evoke?   .

  • Discussion points and props encourage pupils to come together listen, taste and smell using all the

  • senses. They can get involved in more fact-finding and discussions outside of the classroom. This encourages children with diverse backgrounds to talk about the cultural differences and even nuances that exist within certain cultures. This can spark an interest in children to enjoy this topic as a class trying new foods whilst sparking an interest in learning about different cultures, countries and the beauty around the world.

  • The box can certainly be focused on more discussion points, quizzes and certainly important emotive

  • topics which present opportunities in the wider curriculum.

  • I am passionate about raising the profiles of positive role models around us and encouraging discussions

  • about inspiring actions from role models from that country so pupils can be inspired by a whole range of people with varying abilities, backgrounds and that have had a different upbringing to their own.

  • This kind of exposure in an interactive way to demonstrate that anything is possible. I genuinely believe these boxes are a golden thread used correctly be used to teach more than Inclusivity, equality and diversity
